Average. Some really great scenes but some real stinkers too.

*** This show’s obsession with purity in exactly the wrong way continues to be stupid. The cognitive dissonance just doesn’t make for good television. Maleficent basically revealed that Emma is…a human! Capable of both good and bad acts! WOW! And knowing the bad things Snow and Charming had done, even at that point makes their insistence at being heroes two dimensional. Will Emma really be that mad at them for doing everything they can to protect her from becoming a villian. (I miss the Snow and Charming of Snow Falls)

PS I still love this show

From Chris Tipton

Hello,
I have to sadly say this was a very meh episode to me. Very slow paced and plodding. With that said… My 5 points

*** 5. The reveal of what Snowing did to Maleficent- Im not sure of how i feel about this. I dont know whether to think its super dark or just plain silly. I do feel it was kind of a letdown for the build up, at least so far. Hopefully the more they reveal will make it better. I have issues with what they’re saying about Emma. So she’s basically any human, she has the potential to be good or bad, so does anyone else. And Snow saying if she turns dark, her child will be doomed to that darkness as well. Excuse me?! No child is ever doomed or forced to follow their parents mistakes. That is just ridiculous. Ok, ill get off the soapbox

4. Maleficents resurrection- I felt the way this came about made since and was handled pretty well. Its still pretty convenient and easy that all they needed was her ashes and Snowings blood, but i suppose it is what it is. When she materialized there it was, genuinely scary and makes you worry for the charmings.
Side note, im not digging her horns, as good a job Edwardo Castro usually does, these look cheaply made and leave alot to be desired.

3. Belle and Will…. Wow Doctor, i did not see this coming. So Belle has definitely moved on, and I REALLY, REALLY want to know what happened to Anastasia now. It cant be good.

2. Cruella- She continues to be absolutely Stellar. Her cunning wit and snark easily rivals Regina in my opinion. I love how she calls everyone Darling, sort of a, parallel to Rumples “Dearie”. Some highlights of her: wanting to turn Granny into a fur coat, she wears blood diamonds apparently and she likes charmings looks. Shes by far the best of the 3. Still waiting on Ursula to become interesting at all. I feel like i seem to say this about every new villain, but Cruella is already one of my favorite villains yet. Actually, just for fun, ill rate the villains
1. Cruella
2. Rumple
3. Ingred
4. Pan
5. Cora
6. Zelena
7. Maleficent
8. Ursula
(I don’t count Regina because shes no longer a villain but when she was shes obviously the best, and Greg and Tamara just sucked)

1. Regina and Marco- this was easily my favorite part of an otherwise lackluster episode. Seeing Regina so vulnerable and apologizing like that was so amazing. Shes truly a hero, one of the good guys if you will. I know many fans miss the evil queen but i absolutely adore where she is now. Some of the best character development ive ever witnessed on screen. Marco Giving her August’s stuff was tear-worthy and very exciting!! Can’t wait to see all that was in that satchel

HM-Regina reminiscing about her happiness with Robin was heart breaking. Robin needs to get his hands on that scroll and get back to town

Overused term of the week: witches

Well, after a second watch and writing this feedback, i liked the episode more, but still not great. 7/10 chiseled chins

From Trace

Hello again Colleen and Jeff,

You said you thought it was interesting to hear how we all found your podcast. I heard you and Colleen on a round table on the Once Podcast. Those are a bit hectic to listen to…but you and Colleen stood out to me with your positivity. There’s a lot of haters out in the fandom, so I choose to listen to the few podcasts where I feel the hosts actually love the show like I do, and you and Colleen remain my top faves!!! I, at that time was binge watching Once to get caught up…so I would watch a show, then go listen to your podcast and have loved it since!! I enjoy hearing everyone’s feedback as well. The fans of your podcast are funny, and most of all…positive. I usually end up re-watching the show due to others thoughts that are so interesting! Ok, love fest over for now J

Here are a few of my thoughts for this week: Last week I said I thought Lilly was involved, and now we all know how! I totally agree with both of you that Lilly is the “lost child.” Wow Colleen, I never thought of the baby in utero swap idea though…so interesting of a theory! She has a star tattoo so the father could be the sorcerer because of the stars in the hat? Or the Author because now we know he left clues to his where abouts and maybe the tattoo is a clue for Lilly? But, King Stephen could also be?? Maleficent must have found a way to get Lilly over to this land prior to the curse…or the sorcerer sent her over to save her. Here’s a side note I found interesting…Lilly means pure and innocent. But, her quote unquote foster/adoptive father called her “Lilleth’, which means dark/evil. So, Maleficents’ child (like she said to Snow) has the potential to be very very evil, but very good as well. I think the irony in all of this will be that Snow and Charming did everything in their power to assure that Emma would be “good”, by not doing anything dark. But, all this lying and betrayal is what will send Emma dark now anyway. But, if they would have all just worked together, they could have probably done more good to stop the curse. Kind of like now…it seems to me that EVERYONE is on the same side-they just don’t realize it yet…they all want to find the author and get the happy endings. If the hero’s and villians would team up for once…imagine what they could accomplish!

So, I think I just used all my time on that story arc, there was way too much good stuff in this episode. I can’t not add though how great the acting was this week by all, and OMG Belle and Will!!!! Ol’ Rump is not going to like this at all!

Hope you feel better Jeff-Big love to all the Oncer’s out there…this is going to be sooooooooooooooo good!!! Talk to ya all next week. Trace

I have a theory that maybe Maleficents childs father may be king Stephan. This would definitely be a once style twist on the original story.

From Katie

Hi, Jeff and Colleen!

I have enjoyed this season so far!
I think that Snow and Charming should have told Emma the truth. Lily could be Maleficent’s daughter, especially since it’s been hinted that she will be in another episode.
I think Henry will find out who the writer is in a couple more episodes. Have a great week!

From Brad

Good day darlings! Here are the things I learned this week in the episode, Unforgiven.

#1. If you want to keep Henry
happy, make sure those
chocolate donuts are frosted!

#2. Sometimes that 2:38 in the
morning whiskey is the only
thing that will help.

#3. Rushing Granny is a very bad
idea and will only prolong your
misery.

#4. After six whole months outside
of Storybrooke, Gold still
does not posses the most
powerful object our world has
to offer, a smart phone!

#5. A car full of parking
violations and a glovebox
stocked with gin is perfectly
acceptable when Sheriff
chiseled chin pulls you over.

#6. In the highly debated hot top
of french fries vs onion rings,
Emma is pro rings.

#7. As long as Belle and her
extraordinary inventory skills
are around, Will’s thieving days
may be over.

#8. The Charming’s would have
made great villains with their
lying skills. Ursalla and
Cruella should take note.

#9. After all the curses in
Storybrooke, not one person
thought of maybe weaving
in some IMacs for everyone.

#10. Emma’s needs a new super
power because her old one is
about as reliable as Sleepy on
guard duty.

OBSERVATIONS:

The Golden Bird story has struck again!
